People from all over the world travel to New York for many different reasons, the big city skyscrapers, the historical art Museums, and world class dining just to name a few. In a place know for being possibly the most famous concrete jungle in the world, you might be surprised to know it holds in it one the worlds most beautiful botanical gardens.
The 52 acre garden was founded over 100 years in 1910 in Mount Prospect park in New York. It’s hard to believe that the Brooklyn Botanic Garden there are 14,000 types of plants. There are many different types of gardens within it including its most popular, which is the Japanese garden pictured below.
One of the top attractions at this garden is during cherry blossom season where thousands visit to view the beauty of these cherry trees that seem to change on a daily basis.

You can visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden website to view their current plants in bloom, workshops they offer for kids, adults and teachers, and tons of gardening resources provided by experts in the field. Children under 12 can enter for free, while students pay $8 and adults are $15 to enter, which is well worth it.
